Before the stage. Before the lights. Before the applause.
There is the making.
Welcome Friends,
This is where it begins—in quiet rooms, in careful rehearsal, in the trust between artists who choose to create together.
Quiet Rebellion is what’s next for CLYMOVE Dance. It is a new choreographic work in progress, rooted in reflection, sound, and nervous system healing. Quiet Rebellion continues our commitment to look inward, to create movement that speaks from the body, and to share work that invites connection in a world that too often feels disconnected.
What people don’t always see is what it takes to arrive at the moment of performance. Every week, it costs us to rent studio space, employ our dancers, and support the commissions of artists whose voices we believe in. This year, we are producing two World Premieres. In addition to my new piece rooted in polyvagal theory, we are over the moon to commission choreographer Ashley Green, current star and company member with Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater, Princess Grace Award Recipient, and Dance Magazine’s “25 to Watch”. Ashley’s work embodies the same values that guide CLYMOVE: movement rooted in reflection, resilience, and the capacity of the body to tell stories that heal and connect.
This campaign is about making that journey possible. It is about resourcing the creative process—rehearsals, choreography, sound design, collaboration, and care.
With national arts funding under threat and nonprofit support for creative work shrinking, I am choosing to respond not with fear, but with movement. I invite you to stand with us not only as audience members, but as producers and supporters of the art we still believe in.
Your gift supports:
Dancer compensation and rehearsal time
The original score by DJ Kurt Rambüs
Documentation and professional filming
Development of a companion educational module
A live premiere and post-show community dialogue
You don’t have to wait until the curtain rises to be part of this work.
Join us in the making.
With gratitude,
