QUIET REBELLION IN TECHNICOLOR
April 9–11, 2026

CLYMOVE celebrates a powerful milestone with its 6th Anniversary Season at New York Live Arts, April 9–11, 2026. This three-day event honors six years of bold artistry, community building, and creative risk-taking.

The weekend opens on April 9 with a festive Gala Performance and After Party, launching the season with an evening that reflects CLYMOVE’s commitment to innovation, connection, and artistic excellence. Centered on the transformative power of women’s mentorship, the gala will honor Dr. Phyllis Penney with the Elisa Monte Leadership Legacy Award, named for Elisa Monte, mentor and longtime artistic advisor to Clymene Aldinger. Dr. Penney served as a formative mentor to Aldinger during her time as both a student and educator at Douglas Anderson School of the Arts, making the recognition deeply personal and profoundly meaningful.

Joining in celebration of Dr. Penney and CLYMOVE’s continued growth are members of the event leadership team who also studied under or served as faculty with Dr. Penney at Douglas Anderson School of the Arts: Ellie Potts Barrett, Elizabeth Pearce Diennet, Ashley Faison, Whitney Krahn, and Tish Schmid, whose presence underscores the strength of the community surrounding this milestone season.

Across the weekend, audiences will experience two world premieres: new works by Clymene Aldinger and Ashley Kaylynn Green of Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater, alongside two critically acclaimed works from the CLYMOVE repertory. Together, these performances showcase the company’s signature blend of visceral movement, emotional depth, and fearless experimentation.

This anniversary season is both a reflection and a declaration. It honors the lineage of mentorship and virtuosic modern dance that shaped CLYMOVE, while advancing a new artistic model grounded in rigor, collaboration, and message-driven performance. It celebrates where the company has been and signals the bold creative future still unfolding.
