Josephine Brunner

Josephine Brunner (she/they) is a New York-based freelance dancer and choreographer originally from Baltimore, Maryland. Josephine began her formal training at the Peabody Institute and later attended Baltimore School for the Arts where she was the 2019 Harry Gladding Dance Scholarship recipient. In 2023, Josephine graduated with a B.F.A in Dance from George Mason University where she received the university’s Excellence in Performance Award. While at GMU, Josephine trained under the mentorship of teachers including Christina Robson, Shaun Boyle D’Arcy, Roger Jeffrey, and Susan Shields and performed works by Doug Varone, Rafael Bonachela, Darell Moultrie, and Stephanie Martinez. As a professional, Josephine has danced for artists like Larry Keigwin, Laura Halzack, Middle Child Dance Theater, Natalie Clevenger, Corinne Lohner, and Rosa Allegra Wolff while pursuing her own choreographic goals. Recently, she has presented her work at venues including Arts on Site in Manhattan, Spring for Spring Dance Festival in Connecticut, and the Fringe Festival in Edinburgh, Scotland. Josephine is thrilled to be dancing in her first season with Clymove.
